What a year it has been! I've faced the toughest challenges of my life: a three-week hospitalization following a seizure, losing my life partner to suspected pancreatic cancer, and ongoing recovery from multiple infections caused by inappropriate radiation treatments.
Even so, I press on. Why? Because of my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. And because I believe there is still more to come, more to experience, more to learn, and more life to live.
"Don't let your learning lead to knowledge; let your learning lead to action." - Jim Rohn
While others advised me to rest, to sit back and watch the world go by, I couldn't. I refuse to stop living, learning, or creating. Despite the limitations of my health, I have taken action and found joy in the results of what I can still do.
To that end, I have focused my energy on my passion: writing. While the world told me to rest, I found refuge in the keyboard's steady click, forging a new sense of purpose as I watched new worlds glow on the screen late into the night. The effort has consumed me—the heavy pressure of a story demanding to be told—and the result is publishing multiple short stories and a pair of novellas. I've compiled five of the short stories into a new collection centered on the powerful themes of redemption, renewal, and transformation. The novellas come with all of that and with a healthy dose of romance and magical realism thrown in for fun.
I hope this inspires you, and that you, too, are ready to let your learning lead to action. You can see the first results of my action by checking out my collection.
Warmest Regards, John
